2 festivals has just been confirmed for CIRCUS MAXIMUS: On August 24-25 2007 they will be playing at the Fosen Rock Festival in Norway, and March 28-29 2008 they will play at the ProgPower UK Festival in England.

CIRCUS MAXIMUS has been confirmed for MetalHeart Festival (taking place in Notodden, Norway on August 17-18 - feat. also Testament, UDO, Jorn etc.) and ProgPower Scandinavia Festival (taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark on November 9-10 - feat. Mercenary, Threshold, Andromeda etc.).

Due to some server problems the christmas greet is a little late :-)
2006 is now coming to an end and during the the last months we have been preparing our next album. 2 weeks from now we will be entering the studio to start the recordings. In the meanwhile enjoy a >video compilation from our latest pre-production.

CIRCUS MAXIMUS will be performing at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden - taking place on June 6-9th 2007. Other bands confirmed include: Heaven & Hell, Kreator, UDO, REO Speedwagon, Motorhead, Blind Guardian, Thunder etc.

CIRCUS MAXIMUS has been confirmed for the Kvinesdal Rock Festival in Kvinesdal, Norway. The festival will take place July 12-15 2007. Other bands confirmed include: D-A-D, Jorn, TNT, Kamelot and Sabaton.

Two new concerts has been confirmed. The first one is in Gothenburg, Sweden on August 8th at the "Slottskogen Goes Progressive" festival. The other is in Notodden in Norway at the Mostoy Festival October 6-7th.

Updates from the band:
I just want to start by saying thanks for all the support and the positiv feedback with have received. Its also great to see that the forum is active and growing stronger each day. Thanks for keeping it alive:) We have also got ourselves a myspace site. Visit it at http://www.myspace.com/officialcm.
We are in a week or two going to start to record the pre-production of the upcoming album. We have alot of ideas ready. Now its time to puzzle it together. Our new keyboard player Lasse has played a couple of shows with us now and fits the band perfectly when it comes to writing music and playing live. We welcome him in the CM family with open arms.
We will give all you metal junkies out there a sneak peak on how everything is going with the pre-prod. Maybe even by video:)
So have patience with us as we only want the best for the fans and generally music lovers.

One new concert has been confirmed - on the 27th of May CIRCUS MAXIMUS will play support to Jorn at Rockefeller in Oslo, Norway.

This week "MessTv" (part of the Norwegian national channel TvNorge) was in the rehearsal room visiting Circus Maximus and doing some live-footage and an interview with the band for the upcoming show this saturday night( 0300-0730 ). In the show you'll also be able to win tickets for "Rock The Boat" !!!
A new concert will take place Skien, Norway on the 20th of may at Grenland Metal Club. Oh and on Monday you will actually be able to hear the worldwide premiere of one of the new CM songs at the Smuget in Oslo, when CM will join in on a jam-session arranged by the club.

Circus Maximus has been confirmed for the RAGNAROK Festival in Perth, Scotland. The festival takes place on November 4th this year and will feature among others Gamma Ray, Astral Doors, Charon and Elvenking.

Good news - Circus Maximus have chosen to engage Lasse Finbroten as the new keyboardist. Lasse has played with Norwegian prog-band Tritonus as well as a local Led Zepperlin-coverband called Gentle Groove. We welcome him with open arms :-)

Once again the ProgPower Festival in USA have asked Circus Maximus to make the trip across the pond to perform at their fest. In September 2006 (on the 14th to be more precise) the band will be back at Earthlink in Atlanta to perform at the ProgPower PreParty.

Here's an update from both the band and keyboardist Espen, who sadly has chosen to leave Circus Maximus ...
Circus Maximus:
“After 5 years, Espen has decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. After much consideration we also think that this is the right decicion by him and for the sake of the band. We wish him the best of luck with everything in the future. Circus Maximus is of course still alive and well and as of this moment the band is writing new asskicking stuff for all you metal heads out there. At the moment we’re trying out a new very skilled guy – but we need to see how he will function with us on the songwriting etc. We will keep you posted when we have found a definite replacement for Espen".
And then the statement from Espen ...
Espen:
“After thinking about this for a long long time I have decided to leave the band. It was a tough decision, but I feel this is the right thing to do right now. I've had a great time paying in CM, up until a while ago. I just want to say that I still look at the other guys as my buddies, and no one is mad at eachother. I wish Circus Maximus a great future, and I know that they will still make great music. Big thanks to everyone for your support!”

The interviews and reviews are rollin' in. As you can see in the "album section", there's constantly being added new reviews and interviews to the site.
The VIRTUOSA magazine, featuring a big interview with Circus Maximus, can be ordered online at the Lion Music online store.
Also, the tour section has been updated.

Welcome to the new official Circus Maximus site.
Today is the official release date in Europe of "The 1st Chapter" (through Frontiers Records), and tomorrow it'll be officially released in USA (through Sensory Records). We're very proud of this album, our debut, and we hope you'll check it out. There's a couple of samples for you here on this site. Feel free to leave us a message in the guestbook.
